Inspiration

During the Covid-19 phase in 2020 many people faced problems like no availability of proper healthcare assistance due to the management of critical patients with COVID-19 pneumonia during the pandemic which has been the greatest challenge faced by Intensive Care Medicine in all its history. So our team came up with the idea to create an online platform DOCTELLO with features like virtual healthcare assistance, Connect to professional doctors and to help the other people for good cause.

What it does

Our website aims to provide multiple features like Virtual healthcare assistance, where an AI prescribes the medicine and precautions to be taken by the user according to the symptoms of illness he is facing, But if the symptoms are of severe illness our website also provide a feature where the user can consult to the professional doctors online on our platform, this give access to many healthcare facilities to our users virtually. This feature can also help us to generate revenues from our website which will also include Doctor's fee. We have also managed the backend of our website by creating a localhost database server to store data for our website, where users can store their important medical documents such as reports, prescription etc. with consulted doctor having access to these documents for ease in further healthcare assistance. We have also added a feature considering the serious situation we all faced in INDIA during the covid-19 phase in 2020 i.e. shortage of beds, many people lost their life due to the no proper medical assistance provided to them, which can be reduced if people can help the government by providing the space like land, old apartment or house which is not in use to build temporary healthcare centers at the time of pandemic. we can make people to give their unused land for building of temporary healthcare centers by government paying them for their land accordingly.

How we built it

Tech stack we used to develop front-end of our website : CSS, HTML, JAVASCRIPT and for back-end we used mySQL, PHP and Python.

Challenges we ran into

It was a challenging task to create a fully functioning online platform with in 3 days, the main problem we faced was integrating an AI to our website which we managed to function after many hit and trial. Another problem we faced was creating a database server because no member in our team had prior knowledge of working on a back-end of a website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

it was a thrill ride to develop an almost fully functioning website in such short duration of time but we are happy to develop it even after at some point when we started to feel the idea we came up with is hard to implement due to no prior knowledge of it but with proper teamwork we overcame those obstacles and learnt many new things from it.

What we learned

We learnt integrating an AI to the website although it is just a prototype yet which only detect one word for now i.e. Fever. We also learnt how to make a localhost database server for the website by using mySQL and PHP which was quite challenging to us due to no prior knowledge of backend to any member of or team but we managed to learn it and implement it in our project.

What's next for DOCTELLO

We are gonna make our AI perfectly functioning by detecting symptoms and prescribing correct medication and precautions according to the input. We have also thought of adding a feature to find the nearest hospital or temporary healthcare centers using MAPS API.
