Inspiration: General Medical Education is too often based off of clinical research of the cis-white male. Imagine an underrepresented patient seeks a diagnosis from a doctor but instead only receives care generally for cis-white males. The patient is instead entitled to advice tailored towards their background. DocLearn is a step in this direction.
What it does: DocLearn connects doctors from all over the globe to share their experiences with patients of different demographics. If a doctor is caring for an underrepresented patient, they can use this forum to understand how other patients of similar demographics have progressed and the proper treatments/care to give their patients.
How we built it: We built this on Javascript.
Challenges we ran into: This was our first time making an app. We only have a couple hours to digest the depths of React native, HTML, Javascript, CSS, Node JS.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: There is no app on the market that connects doctors for the specific purpose.
What we learned: We learned a lot about the different languages that are needed to make an app.
What's next for DocLearn: TBD
