Inspiration

DocChain, powered by the robust technology of blockchain, is here to alleviate the anxiety and stress associated with document-intensive processes like immigration or license renewals, especially in the United States. We recognize how overwhelming it can be to face the fear of losing crucial documents, deal with slow and lengthy processing times, and cope with a lack of transparency. Our solution streamlines these processes, ensuring security, efficiency, and clarity every step of the way.

What it does

Our secure, scalable and user-friendly web application accelerates processing times, reducing the risk of lost documents with cutting-edge encryption. With Doc Chain's innovative Web3 solution, customers can confidently manage submissions worldwide, ensuring their personal information remains confidential and protected.

How we built it

Blockchain Technology with Aleo and Solidity: Doc Chain leverages the power of Aleo and Leo, prominent blockchain technologies, to ensure a secure and transparent document-sharing platform. The decentralized nature of such languages enhance data integrity and privacy throughout the document submission and retrieval processes. Intuitive Frontend with JavaScript, React, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, and Vite, width NodeJS being used for managing various aspects of the platform.

Challenges we ran into

Working with Web3 for the first time was extremely difficult but interesting. With the lack of support, Aleo also was difficult to work with. Furthermore, due to family emergency, one of our teammates had to leave midway through the hackathon which led to us having to re-structure and delegate tasks again.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Reflecting on our experience at the hackathon, it's clear that our initial limited knowledge of Web3 and blockchain technology didn't hinder our progress. Instead, we emerged with a significantly enhanced understanding of how these cutting-edge technologies can be applied. Our project not only showcases the practical applications of these technologies but also stands as a testament to our ability to transform challenges into learning opportunities and innovative solutions.

What we learned

The blockchain is a revolutionary technology, offering a decentralized platform for secure and transparent transactions. In our exploration, we delved into the practical applications of Web3 and blockchain beyond just financial contexts, discovering their broader potential. We focused on understanding how to utilize Ethereum and the Pinata API in conjunction with MetaMask, exploring the capabilities of Aleo and Solidity in the process. This journey revealed the diverse and far-reaching implications of decentralization in the digital world.

What's next for DocChain

We aim to enhance accessibility and convenience by introducing a system that allows individuals to securely participate in interviews without the need for long-distance travel. By implementing zero-knowledge proofs, we significantly improve the security of these virtual interactions. This initiative is designed as an additional option rather than a replacement for traditional methods. It's particularly beneficial for individuals with disabilities, providing them with an easier and more accessible way to engage in important interviews.
