Inspiration
When I was about thirteen years old, I discovered what Tasmanian Devils were. I remember being so fascinated with these little creatures and wanting to learn everything I could about them. I've remained passionate about them and one day hope to visit Tasmania and see them in person. When I was considering options for my hackathon project, I was looking through an endangered animals list and came across the Tasmanian Devil! I was unaware they are now considered endangered and knew then I had to create a project to spread awareness about them.
What it does
This is a trivia game based all on facts about the Tasmanian Devil. My hope is it will surprise some people and bring awareness to these animals, perhaps even swaying some to donate to organizations fighting their extinction.
How we built it
In Python, I built a very basic project, as I am a complete beginner.
Challenges we ran into
Again, I am a complete beginner. I've never taken a coding class. My partner has showed me some things in Python, but nothing has really stuck. I took it upon myself to learn something new from this experience, and I definitely did.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud that I was able to create an entire trivia game out of nothing! It's a very simple project, but to someone who knew how to do nothing at the start of this hackathon, I'm proud of myself for piecing it together.
What we learned
I learned the basics of Python. I also learned some new facts about the Tasmanian Devils myself.
What's next for The Tasmanian Devil Trivia Game
I hope to show it to more people and maybe create another Python project around the same cause.
