Inspiration

This project was inspired by the feeling of emptiness that many people experience but never talk about. The song explores the moments where you feel tired, unseen, or stuck, and the music video expresses that feeling. I wanted to create a visual story that shows that even when you feel empty, you can still stay strong.

What it does

This project turns the song into a visual story about feeling empty, tired and unseen, and then finding strength again. The music video uses effect, transitions, movement and atmosphere to express emotions. Each section of the video follows the message of the lyrics from feeling stuck, to holding on, to becoming whole. The visuals rise and fall with the music, creating a cinematic experience that reflects the journey from emptiness to strength.

How we built it

I built this project by first creating the song and then designing a music video that matches its emotion and rhythm. Every visual moment was shaped around the beat, the mood and the message of the track. I added movements, atmosphere and effects that rise and fall with the music to give each section extra impact. The goal was to make the visuals feel like an extension of the song, so the video and audio grow together as one complete experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges we faced was choosing the right effects and transitions in CapCut. There are so many strong options that it became difficult to decide what would work best for the mood of the song. I had to test different ideas and find the balance between keeping the video cinematic while still giving the visuals enough movement and impact to match the beat.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud of how well the music and visuals came together. The video feels connected to the song in a natural way, and every scene supports the emotion of the track. I’m also proud that I was able to create a strong atmosphere using simple tools and careful timing. Even with limited resources, the final project feels complete, expressive and true to the message of the song.

What we learned

I learned how important timing and mood are when building a music video around a song’s emotion. Matching visuals to the beat taught me how small details can change the whole feeling of a scene. I also learned how to choose effects and transitions more carefully so they support the story instead of distracting from it. Most of all, I learned how powerful simple visuals can be when they are used with intention and honesty.

What's next for Do You Feel Empty?

I want to build even more visual stories from the emotions in this project. My next steps are to create stronger scenes, explore deeper symbolism, and refine the way I match visuals to the beat and message of the music. I also want to continue making music videos in this style so that each one becomes part of a bigger emotional journey. This project opened new creative ideas for me, and I’m excited to keep growing and experimenting.
