Inspiration
Now a days, donating online is pretty common when NGOs start any campaign. But when a donor wants to donate some specific stuff like books or clothes or groceries, It is pretty hard for one to select a genuine and responsible NGO to accomplish the desired donation, that's where the project idea came in picture.
What it does
Do-Nations is a web based platform which has functionalities like creating account, making specific domain donations in collaboration with desired NGO, tracking it's process and ranking of the NGO in each domain category according to the feedback provided by the donor.
How we built it
After ideation, the body structure as well as styling and basic logics are done in basic web technology, HTML-CSS-JavaScript. Apart from it, for the back-end part we have used basic PHP.
Challenges we ran into
As total beginners and having only very little front-end experience our biggest challenge was to accomplish the back-end part of the project as much as possible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
During the timeline of the Hackathon, we tried to ideate many different ideas but at the end we came with this small idea and built a decent front-end as well as basic back-end part on time is a thing we are happy to accomplish till now.
What we learned
So far in the project, there were many things which were new to us to deal with like back-end and database, which was a totally new field to explore and learn to accomplish the first steps of the projects and yes we learnt and enjoyed it quite.
What's next for Do-Nations - Team Kalgorithms
Till now, we are not even done with out basic tasks in the project like make ranking system according to the donor feedback so for the future our goal is going to make this project run on its full potential and improve our user experience so we can provide a decent and smooth experience to our user.
