DNA Art

Inspiration We were fascinated by the mysteries of DNA and genes, which are present in billions within our bodies. This curiosity led us to explore how genetic information can influence physical appearance.

What it does Our app generates images of people based on artificial DNA sequences. We use predefined datasets that map different genetic traits to physical characteristics. Users can input a DNA sequence, and our app creates a corresponding image of what that person might look like.

How we built it We built our app using React for the frontend and Python with Flask for the backend. We integrated the Perplexity Sonar model for text analysis and Gemini Flash 2.0 for image generation. This combination allowed us to create a seamless experience where users can see their genetic traits visualized.

Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges was parsing the genetic data and finding patterns that relate to human appearance. It required a deep understanding of both genetics and AI image generation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We're proud of how quickly we learned and implemented various technologies. Completing this project in a short time gave us confidence in our ability to tackle complex projects.

What we learned We gained valuable experience with real-time AI models, Flask APIs, and React development. Understanding how these technologies work together was a significant takeaway from this project.

What's next for DNA-Art In the future, we plan to use real DNA data to train our model. This will enable us to predict images based on actual genetic information, making the app more realistic and useful for educational or research purposes.
