DMH's Trading Strategy Proposal for ProfiTech 2021 (Finance)

Inspiration

There aren't that many opportunities to showcase and improve upon skills, whether it is technical or soft skills. We participated in this hackathon because we wanted to experience something new or relatively new to us. Coming from 3 very different educational backgrounds, we thought it would be a new challenge to embark. Hence, this project initially made all of us interested because the 3 of us wanted to work together but we continued with the journey because we found the topic more and more interesting after researching about it.

What it does

The purpose of the pdf report and presentation is to inform judges on a feasible strategy for the tech team's trading bot. In addition, we spoke about items such as the company objectives and standing within its industry.

How we built it

The pdf report was created from Microsoft Word and the presentation was made from Powtoons, a software which allow users to make videos more interactive.

Challenges we ran into

I think the idea with hackathons allow participants to really expand on ideas but it also requires participants to really know the concept and scenario. As mentioned earlier, as all of us do not come from a finance background, the biggest obstacle was getting to know what the trade market is and how it works.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a team, we're proud to present you with what we have produced. We stepped out of our comfort zones and prepared a report consisting of a topic we've never really studied and created a pitch video with a software we're not familiar with and ended up with the result we're happy and glad with.

What we learned

We learned about the stock market such as the best strategies for individuals of different risk profiles, improved on our soft skills, learned how to make a video in Powtoons, and most importantly, had fun together!
