Inspiration

Passion for music and DJing, and them sweet beat drops

What it does

Track mixing in various creative fashions (mostly random) utilising Spotify's Echo Nest API (providing audio features like number of beats, bars etc.)

How we built it

With our blood and sweat

Challenges we ran into

• Disappointing Spotify APIs
• Awkward sound libraries
• Lack of energy drinks

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Pulling through despite a lack of experience with audio programming and DJing
• Working with undocumented APIs (looking at you Spotify!)

What we learned

• Music theory & digital music formats
• Audio manipulation & programming in Python
• Bash on Windows is a pile of crap (still!)

What's next for DJ++

• Improving mixing with a neural network with user input training
• More effects and transitions
