Inspiration
The IPhone-TriPod Stand. One of our favorite hobbies is playing musical instruments, and we were inspired by the TriPod as a way to allow people with physical impairments like weak shoulders or scoilios to play the Violin.
What it does
It clamps onto any kind of table and is adjustable to fit anyone's needs. It holds a violin at the top that can be oriented in any way. This allows people with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Spina Bifida, Arthritis, Scoliosis, or spinal cord injuries freely play the violin the same as fully able people do, in order to express themselves through music and participate in hobbies they never expected to.
How we built it
We built it from the ground up, making the base, the tower, the joints, and the X-holder all fully modular. All the parts are fully modular and connect to each other very easily, making it super easy to 3D print and use at home.
Challenges we ran into
Ball-joint, Violin Dimensioning, and Ideation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That we completed and made it fully functional on fusion 360. Furthermore, it is modular so we can print from a 3d Printer if we want to use it.
What we learned
During this project, we learned a lot about the different types of joints, making screws, threading holes, and especially making ball joints.
What's next for Dizzy Code - ViolinX
Reaching more and more instruments, making music accessible for anyone, in any way they want.
