Inspiration
In Brazil, every trip, dinner and shared streaming plan ends in a spreadsheet and a group chat full of "who owes what?". Pix made paying instant, but nobody made splitting easy.
What it does
- Groups for trips, homes and dinners, with even, share or exact splits.
- Shared subscriptions that post themselves every month.
- Settlement plans that cut the number of transfers, paid with Pix copy-and-paste or straight from your bank through Open Finance.
- Contact matching that finds friends already on the app by phone number, without storing the address book.
- Dividee Aí Pro (R$ 8,99/month or R$ 89,90/year): unlimited groups, full history, global search, bank payments, and a new MCP server. You connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and ask "how much does Ana owe me?" or "add R$ 120 of groceries split with the house".
How we built it
- Expo SDK 57 / React Native 0.86 with expo-router and NativeTabs, shipped with EAS Build, Submit and Update.
- Supabase: Postgres with RLS, Edge Functions, and Auth, which also serves as the OAuth 2.1 server for MCP.
- RevenueCat powers Pro on both stores: offering
default, entitlementpro, monthly and yearly products. A webhook syncs the entitlement to the database, so the web app, the mobile app and the MCP server all enforce the same Pro rule. - The MCP server is a Supabase Edge Function using Streamable HTTP. It follows the MCP 2026-07-28 authorization spec: protected-resource metadata, a 401 challenge, PKCE and dynamic client registration. There are 17 tools, and every call runs as the user under RLS.
- Pix via Efí Open Finance, plus Sentry, PostHog and Expo Observe for observability.
Challenges
- Apple review of subscription products and the paywall.
- Making the OAuth consent flow work on Android App Links without the app hijacking the consent page.
- Matching Brazilian phone numbers saved with or without the ninth digit.
What's next
Public Android launch, more MCP tools as each feature ships, and receipt scanning.
