The inspiration for DiversiTech came from our personal experiences. As two young women navigating the tech world, we noticed the lack of diversity in the industry and wanted to create a solution that could help reduce bias and provide equal opportunities for all candidates while providing personalized support to candidates from diverse backgrounds throughout the recruitment process. DiversiTech is an AI-powered platform that streamlines the recruitment process and enhances the candidate experience by using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to source diverse candidates, screen their applications, and conduct initial interviews and integrated chatbots and video conferencing tools to provide personalized support to candidates and the provision of analytics and insights to recruiters. We will build DiversiTech using Python and its various libraries and tools for web scraping, NLP, and ML. We will also integrate chatbot and video conferencing APIs to the platform for the personalized support of candidates. A challenge we might face is collecting and labeling a large dataset of job descriptions, resumes, and cover letters from various sources but we hope by the end we build an innovative and unique platform that has the potential to make a positive impact on the tech industry's diversity and inclusion efforts. In the future, we hope to continue improving DiversiTech by using more advanced NLP models and algorithms for better results. We also plan to expand the platform's reach and collaborate with more companies to increase the number of diverse candidates hired.
