Bullies and haters target those with disabilities, so we are creating the opportunity for the public to experience how daily life is for people with disabilities.
Inspiration:We were inspired by the topic of diversity and inclusion and came to the marginalized group of disabled people because we feel that they are generally not as understood as other groups are because able-bodied people are not able to experience what it's like to live as someone with a disability.
What it does: Our project replicates the feeling of living with a disability, whether it’s a learning or a physical disability and imitates the challenges a person with dyslexia or cerebral palsy faces in their daily lives.
How we built it: Used the platform of Unity and the coding language of C# to build our project.
Challenges we ran into: Materials and texture of the assets turning pink; implementing a button and changing the scene; Work saving issues; Sizing and positioning of elements such as the buttons
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Solving the challenges; making a functional experience; learning new skills along the way
What we learned: New skills such as scene change; Changing elements of buttons such as size, angle, and position
What's next for Diverse-abled: Include more physical disabilities and pair it with haptic VR suits so that the user experience can be further enhanced
