The inspiration comes from the limitations of traditional cloud storage systems, which often have high costs and rely on centralized architectures. I wanted to explore how distributed systems could be used to build a more reliable, scalable, and secure storage solution with better fault tolerance and efficiency.

This project is a distributed cloud storage system that allows users to upload, store, and retrieve files securely and efficiently. It improves performance by distributing data across multiple nodes, using caching to speed up access, and ensuring availability even during system failures.

The system was built using AWS S3 for storage, MongoDB for metadata management, and Redis for caching. Data redundancy was implemented using Reed-Solomon encoding, while security and integrity were supported through encryption and hashing. Additional tools were used for routing and performance testing.

The main challenge was balancing performance, cost, and reliability in a distributed environment, especially when managing data across nodes while maintaining low latency and consistency.

I am proud that this project demonstrates a working distributed architecture with improved reliability, fault tolerance, and performance, showing how cloud storage systems can be enhanced through better design.

Through this project, I learned more about distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and data management, as well as the challenges of scalability and performance optimization.

In the future, I plan to improve security, optimize performance under higher workloads, and develop a more user-friendly interface while exploring real-world deployment.
