INSPIRATION:

Typing is an intrinsic part of career of us computer science engineers as good typing skills can save us a lot of time so we wanted to create a game that can make typing fun and as well as got the sweet feel of old school games.

WHAT PROJECT DOES:

We have created a retro type game in which player is impersonated as an Anti-Virus and his core objective is to reach the important region of machine before the Virus which is enemy but players is obstructed by all sorts of obstacles along the way whereas Virus can pass unhindered through them. We can discover “filter” spread out all over the map that can be used to implement obstruction for Virus by typing specific code in them and key is to type as fast as possible.

CHALLANGES:

The biggest challenge was to create a decent presentable game in short time period of 48-hours with two-man team so we may not disappoint our judges and we manage to get through this hurdle.

THINGS LEARNT:

By creating a game ourselves our understanding about them have become much richer than before. We learned using various platforms such as unity, Kirita, gimp. We used C# for coding our game which in turn has further improve our arsenal of skill set.

HOW WE BUILT OUR PROJECT:

We used Unity Technologies for game engine and most of our assets our built using Kirita and Gimp.

WHAT WOULD WE HAVE DONE IF GIVEN MORE TIME:

We would like to add more live to our game by adding more features, more levels and more descent mechanics to make Game Play more pleasurable by a notch.

RUNNING THE GAME:

Clone the repository and extract the game from "Build_Windows.zip" on windows and run "Distress of an Anti-Virus.exe" to play the game.
