Inspiration
sexual harassment has been prevalent in our country and in other countries as well. Most victims of this crime cannot defend themselves and for some refused to report it because of fear. With our application, it will give victims a chance to defend themselves and at the same time alert the proper authorities that a crime is occurring.
What it does
The application works on two platforms: mobile application for the users and a web application for the authorities. It has three main functions in the mobile application, that is the panic button, reports and police stations. The panic button when activated it omits a distress call alerting the people nearby and sends the location of the user to the nearest police station. The other function is the reports, wherein people who are catcalled, harass and other forms of sexual harassment can report it to the police. The last functions lets the user view the nearby police stations to his/her current location. The user can also take pictures and videos of his/her perpetrators. In the web application, only the proper authorities are permitted to use this application. It has three main functions: Panic attacks, Danger Zones, and Statistics. In the Panic Attacks function, the policemen can view a map in which they can see what are the current crimes happening around their vicinity. In the Danger Zone function, policemen can view the areas that have high rates of crime happening given a time span. In the Statistics function, it shows the statistics of types of crime that happen in the area. It can also predict the area in which a crime will likely to occur.
