Inspiration
From the theme distance, we recalled the difficulties we ran into since COVD happened. People are separated from each other due to the virus. But even in the pandemic, we still try to connect to one another while keeping each other safe. So we decided to make this game about distance, where the objective is to maintain an appropriate range between the two people. The wind driving the characters symbolizes the daily problems we encounter still.
What it does
This is a game about distance. A couple was forced to be separated because one was infected with COVID-19. They walk onto a road, with two cliffs (of loneliness) on the side. They also need to fight against the wind that pulls them sideways. They don’t want to fall down the cliffs, but They also need to be socially distanced. Use WASD and arrow keys to control the distance between the two people so they can live on.
How we built it
We built the game using mostly Javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Since this is our first hackathon, we're proud of the fact that we built and published something for the first time.
What we learned
We learned about a vast range of different things we need to consider when building games, whether graphics, logic or UI, many things that are a lot more complicated than they look.
