🧠 Inspiration
We’ve all been there — overcharged by a company, stuck on hold, or ignored by customer support. Dispute Genie was born out of that frustration. We wanted to build something that could take on those battles for you — a true AI-powered advocate that handles the complaints, the calls, and the follow-ups so real people don’t have to.
⚙️ What it does
DisputeGenie lets users resolve customer service issues without ever contacting the company themselves. Users enter their name, contact info, a short description of their issue, and the amount they’re seeking. Then, the app simulates an AI assistant that:
Researches the problem (e.g., company policies, FAQs) Sends an email to the company Places a call to customer service All of this is shown through a smart, chat-style status interface. Finally, users receive an email with a tip link to complete their request and get updated on the dispute outcome. 🛠️ How we built it
We used Bolt.new to rapidly prototype the entire experience, focusing on a clean user flow and smart, simulated AI actions. The frontend includes a simple form, and the backend logic handles status updates and staged delays to simulate real AI behavior. While the backend actions are currently mocked, the structure is built to support integration with real email, call, and AI research APIs.
🧗 Challenges we ran into
Balancing realism with speed: Simulating a real AI process convincingly in limited time required careful scripting of status updates and delays. Designing trust: Since users are handing off disputes to an AI, the design had to feel safe, clean, and competent without overwhelming the user. Cutting scope: We had ambitious ideas (auto-escalation, document scanning), but we trimmed down to focus on a magical, fast experience. 🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

Simplicity is power. The less we asked from the user, the more impressive the assistant felt. With tools like Bolt, it’s possible to go from idea to live prototype shockingly fast — if you’re clear on the value you’re delivering.
