Inspiration

Freight brokers and dispatchers spend hours every day on repetitive manual work — calling carriers for status updates, manually matching loads to available trucks, and drafting rate confirmations. This operational overhead slows down brokers and limits how many loads they can manage at once. DispatchAI was built to remove that friction.

What it does

DispatchAI is an AI copilot for freight dispatch operations. It automates routine carrier check-in calls and status updates, intelligently matches available loads to carriers based on lane history and equipment type, and drafts rate confirmation messages — reducing hours of manual dispatch work to minutes.

How we built it

DispatchAI combines a conversational AI layer for handling carrier communication with a matching engine that scores load-carrier fit based on historical and real-time data. The system integrates messaging/voice APIs for automated check-ins and a lightweight dashboard for dispatchers to review AI-handled interactions and exceptions.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing automation with reliability was the core challenge — carrier communication needs to feel professional and accurate, not robotic, and exceptions (delays, breakdowns, disputes) still need to be flagged to a human dispatcher quickly and clearly.
