Inspiration

Google translate helps people communicate between different languages, however there has never been a full-fledged conversion app that includes all features to aid communication between the disabled general people.

Here is where Dislate helps. By introducing translation between vocally disabled, visually disabled, auditory disabled and general people.

What it does

- Document to Text to Speech
- Image(Objects) to Text to Speech
- Sign language recognizer
For remote communication : A Chat application that supports text to voice and voice to text Ex. A deaf project

How we built it

Dart
Flutter application
- Frontend of the app is made using Flutter and is written in Dart
- Screens: Splash screen, Onboarding, Login screen, Profile-screen, Home-screen, Chat-screen, Translate-screen
Backend is using firebase
We have sued 2 ML models: object detection, American sign-language detection

Challenges we ran into

We didn't find an appropriate dataset for the sign-language detection. After searching a lot, we found one that worked for our usecase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

with this app we made the disabled people communicate with anyone
we successfully implemented two ML models in a flutter app
We are proud that we have made a huge change in the society as we can now successfully connect all the disabled people and can demolish the barrier between the disabled and the normal people
