SymptomSense – AI-Powered Disease Detection
💡 What Inspired Us
Healthcare information can be difficult to access and understand, especially when people experience symptoms but are unsure what they might indicate. This inspired us to build SymptomSense, an AI-powered symptom checker and disease detection web application.
Our goal was to create a simple and accessible platform where users can enter their symptoms and receive helpful insights about possible health conditions. We wanted to explore how modern web technologies and artificial intelligence could be combined to make healthcare-related information more accessible.
Important: SymptomSense is intended to provide informational insights and should not replace professional medical advice or diagnosis.
🧠 What We Learned
Building SymptomSense gave us experience in several important areas of modern application development:
- Building an AI-powered web application
- Designing a simple and user-friendly healthcare interface
- Working with JavaScript and TypeScript-based technologies
- Understanding frontend and backend application architecture
- Integrating APIs and intelligent prediction systems
- Deploying a web application to the cloud
- Using AI-assisted development tools such as Bolt.new
- Understanding the importance of responsible AI in healthcare applications
We also learned that building a healthcare-related application requires more than just creating a good interface. Accuracy, user privacy, responsible communication, and clear disclaimers are extremely important when dealing with health information. Humans tend to take medical advice seriously, understandably, so the software has to behave responsibly.
🛠️ How We Built It
SymptomSense was developed using Bolt.new, an AI-powered development platform that helped us design, develop, and deploy the application efficiently.
