Android Mobile Application that makes use of NFC (Near Field Communication; NGC Tags), Google Voice, Images and You Tube Video Clips. NFC Tags come in different types, some as NFC Stickers. The APP is compatible with Universal NFC Tags. “Mobi” APP has 2 modes: User mode and ADMIN mode Under ADMIN mode, the administrator (ie, caregiver or doctor) can select which type of CUE will be triggered in response to the Patient using the device

Android Mobile Application called “Dimi” (short, friendly name) “Dimi” has a Lite an Professional version “Dimi” Lite allows assistance with only 1 issue with pre-configured cues. Cues can be either Images, You Tube Video Clips or Google Voice “Dimi” Professional allows for assistance with more than 1 issue with cues that can be customized.

USE CASE Dementia Patients has a specific need in his home. The patient forgets to turn OFF a kettle with boiling water on the stove; keys; clothes in the washer/dryer. Place an NFC Tag on the stove. The Smarthphone or NFC Reader nicknamed “Dimi” is used as an assistive technology in a smart home environment.

USE CASE (CONT'D) The patient uses/brings his NFC enabled device to the stove. The NFC tag triggers a customized cue to the patient. After 3 uses cases, the caregiver receives a TEXT Message Alerting them about the boiling water problem from the Patient.

USE CASE (CONT'D) Each time the patient uses the APP, a TIMESTAMP with a short description of the occurance is created such as : “2015-11-08 4:00PM Boiling Kettle” This becomes a Record or Profile and is saved to a Local Database on the Device File System. Further, a USAGE TEXT or EMAIL is sent to caregiver or doctor.

USE CASE (CONT'D) The records of TimeStamps can then be displayed as a linear graph and sent for review to the caregiver or doctor. This allows a medical professional to track each time the dementia patient is using the APP and either using the APP consistently or more frequently which would indicate a further loss of memory in performing a specific task.

USE CASE (CONT'D) The graphs sent to the medical professional are made using the Google Chart Service and are displayed as a Timeline Chart.
