Inspiration
We always have extra unspent meal exchanges at the end of the day.
What it does
Lets people donate meal exchanges to other people in need of it. It also allows for food establishments to advertise their food by letting people try it for free. To further aid the establishment side of things, the app can track the demographic information of the users that have gotten free food from the specific establishment. This can help them better understand their customer base for advertisement and also menu alterations.
How we built it
We built it in c9 using html and firebase. We tried to use MicroStrategy to create graphs of our demographic data for analysis.
Challenges we ran into
Firebase is confusing. MS was down.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It works! Accounts can be added and you can make posts through those accounts, and data for each account is stored.
What we learned
How to use Firebase. How to web.
What's next for Discovereat
Connecting it to Netbadge. Creating a mobile version of the app. Parse through Facebook events to find more sources of free food.
