π Inspiration π
The idea for Discover Alpha came from one simple frustration β the internet is full of search engines that SUCK when it comes to privacy! π I was tired of seeing search queries tracked and personal data harvested, CUZ it felt like I was constantly being watched. I wanted to create a search engine that respects user privacy and offers an intelligent, powerful AI search experience that doesnβt compromise on safety. π
Building Discover Alpha was all about giving power back to the users β helping people search the web freely, without sacrificing their personal info. The journey taught me how hard it is to strike a balance between top-tier search performance and user privacy, but thatβs exactly why it needed to be done. π‘
π₯ What I Learned π₯
Throughout the development, I realized that the challenge of data protection in an AI-driven world is massive. But itβs not impossible! I learned a lot about AI-driven search algorithms and how they can be optimized without compromising user trust. It was a wild ride, from setting up the privacy-first architecture to enhancing the search capabilities with AI. π
π§ Challenges Faced π§
One of the biggest hurdles was making sure AI search results were accurate while keeping everything private. Most search engines gather tons of data to deliver better results β but we were like, "Nah, we don't need to be creeps!" π Another challenge was the UI/UX design. I wanted something clean AF that makes users feel in control but doesnβt overwhelm them with options. π» Balancing privacy with user experience was tricky, but hey, no great thing comes easy, right? πͺ
