Inspiration

Our goal is to ensure a seamless connection between coursework and communication for teachers and students. A common issue students and teachers go through is having difficulties using different tools for communication and coursework. For students, this could be not being able to join or see things that teachers post due to it being in a different area. For teachers, this could be having to learn how to use many different tools for communication and coursework.

What it does

Discourse combines aspects of MyCourses with discord in order to allow student and teachers to communicate while also having access to coursework like quizzes, hw, etc.

How we built it

For the back end, we used Python, flask, and SQL. To show the front end we used Figma to wireframe although in the future we plan on trying to use the Svelte framework.

Challenges we ran into

Working on the back end took much longer than expected and as a result, we couldn't work on the front end and had to focus on working on Figma to show a wireframe to represent our front end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finished most of the back end and did a lot of the wireframing.
