Inspiration

We use discord frequently and we have always been interested in creating a bot.

What it does

We created general purpose commands that perform a variety of task all in one bot. Some of the features are that you can add two number, receive a random inspirational quote, and have an embedded link that sends you to YouTube.

How we built it

We used replit.com which is an online collaborative IDE to work together to create a python discord bot. We uses the discord.py library to use important methods that we needed to get the bot to work.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulties coming up with the idea of what the bot should do. Had issues trying to get the bot to read the commands that were written on discord. A big challenge was trying to familiarize ourselves with python ad the discor.py library.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud that we got the bot to function correctly with everything we wanted it to do. We are also proud that we were able to practice our python which is a language we are not very familiar with.

What we learned

We learned how to implement a discord bot into a discord server, how to implement an API that gets inspirational quotes, and we were able to learn more bout using python.
