Discord WebScrapper

What inspired me was that it was taking lots of time to search for a graphics card as there were so many options and due to the chip shortage only a very limited amount were being sold while everything was sold out. I wanted a way to quickly get access to all the listed options without going through the long hassle of typing everything out individually.

What it does

The bot searches a specific website for any relevant key words that you inputted and gives you the links to any available product on that website.

How we built it

We built the discord bot using the python programming language and hosted it on a free web server such as replit.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge was trying to figure out how to get the bot to recognize specific key words through input.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to host the bot on a web server and being able to complete the code for the bot

What we learned

We learned how to use python to automate tasks and get a bot to understand user input through scrapping a specific website for key words.

What's next for Discord WebScrapper

What's next will be trying to allow it to web scrap multiple sites simultaneously for the key word that was inputted to the bot.
