Discord News Bot

Inspiration

I wanted to be able to see headline articles while gaming or communicating on Discord.

What it does

The user uses a prefix followed by the search term. The bot will return an article from the NewsAPI for the search term. A different article will be returned if there are multiple searches for the same keyword.

How we built it

The bot was created with Discord.js, JavaScript, and NewsAPI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The bot was created in the last hour after I did not have an idea of a project and not much time to create one.

What's next for Discord News Bot

The bot will be able to send breaking news articles/videos on its own. Also, a user will be able to set notifications for desired keywords to stay updated on a topic.
