Inspiration

I've wondered for a while how it would be to have my own sort of announcement or messaging bot on a discord server. Discord does have it's own API for this, but I found it really complicated, and not really friendly to beginners. I wanted to have a quick and simple way to make a messaging bot to be used on a server of mine.

What it does

It takes a webhook link from discord and wraps discord's webhook API into a simple and user friendly experience.

How I built it

I built the application using visual studio C# and windows forms for the GUI.

Challenges I ran into

Due to the misadventures of my team and I during the hackathon, I only had around 4 hours to complete the application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the simplistic and sleek look of the app, and how we were able to complete it in the time we had.

What we learned

We learned that we need to effectively manage our time, and to keep our ambitions small.

What's next for Bot Writer

It may be able to be adapted to other products like slack.
