Class Bot

Inspiration

We based this project off of blackboard's system of announcements, and inspiration from a few tutorials.

What it does

Class Bot:

• Takes input in the form of assignments
• Outputs a reminder of the assignment depending how much time is left until it is due
• Takes Input for a general announcement and projects it to the related discord server

How we built it

We built it by:

• Looking at how blackboard formatted their announcements tab
• Looking up tutorials on how to program a discord bot
• Testing and improving the design

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we encountered were:

• Quick Learning of Github, Some members learning Java
• Figuring out which features the bot should have
• Bug Testing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of:

• The bot functions
• The team managed to learn Github quickly and used the repository often
• Team learned a lot through the constant testing of the bot

What we learned

• How to make a discord bot
• The discord AI is versatile
• How to use Github

What's next for Discord bot

The major next step Discord bot would have is linking with Blackboard, and taking the announcements from there and putting it out into the related discord.
