Inspiration

wanted to learn something simple, but we wanted to make a chrome extension to use youtube song titles and find it on spotify so it could be put in a playlist. in the end we decided to make a discord bot that would help limit the joins for a discord server and play music in voic channels.

What it does

put slash commands in a server

How we built it

using vscode live share, we were able to collaborate and each person was assigned a function to do or read documentation.

Challenges we ran into

we were stuck trying to figure out an idea, team name, and what workshops to go to the whole time. after the idea was done, we had trouble getting started, and discord slash command functionality was confusing for a while.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

at least the bot gets online and does something

What we learned

documentation AND googling is very important to get errors out the way. also we should have gotten an idea first, then attend workshops relevant to our idea.

What's next for discord bot

its intended functionalities will work, and maybe a music player feature on top of it
