Inspiration

Everyone is at home in quarantine! everyone want to hang-out with friends and go and dance in disco, No worry, here comes the Disco Moods Instagram effect.

What it does

In this effect, the user is virtually transported to a disco and then what, you can sing and dance as in this effect only your face or body is displayed and the background is replaced with the disco animation sequence in the background layer.

How I built it

I built it using the Spark AR Studio v96, I used various things like multiple textures to create a animation sequence to create the animation of images. I also added sounds in it. Patch editor helped very much . I also used animation sequence to make the particle system.Since, my effect has not been approved yet, I'm providing the test link.

Challenges I ran into

for the First time , I had made something more than just using a 3d model.I wanted to use 3d models in my project but due to the file size constraints , I couldn't used 3d models and I used 2d textures and images. I have been working on this almost 150-170 hrs, most of the time at late nights as I am a full-time student. Challenges were many and I surely hope that I would win, else I would try again to be the best. I really don't knew how to upload my project to git-hub, so I took some time researching , how to use git-hub. I have made this effect but unfortunately due to some unsupported hardware in my phone, I could not use this effect in my phone, One of my friend helped in recording the effect in her phone and so that I could make necessary changes to it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of myself , as I have completed this project on my own, I learned new things and also to use Spark AR Studio more efficiently. Time-management was also a thing that I learned , Giving time for my daily studies, lectures , courses and also working on my dream hackathon project.

What I learned

I have learned to use Time wisely and work efficiently, thanks to Spark AR Studio, to provide patch editor and pre-defined templates, unlike other apps which I usually make in Unity Studio. I have learned how to use particle system consisting of other shapes, by using animation sequence as their material.I also learned how to use git-hub.

What's next for Disco Moods

After creating Disco Moods, I had also created Beauty&Butterfly Instagram effect, which is based on background segmentation and takes the user to a forest scene, where there are a variety of butterfly , all around you! . Thanks for giving me this opportunity.
