Submission for Ideathon

Objective

Disasters can strike at any time, and they can be devastating. It is essential to be prepared for emergencies and disasters. Virtual Reality (VR) technology can be used to provide disaster management training to help individuals and organizations be prepared for disasters. VR provides a safe and controlled environment for individuals to learn how to respond to disasters without any risks and become life saving experiences in real crisis scenarios.

Why we need this? According to the World Health Organization, disasters affect an estimated 350 million people each year, with natural disasters being the most common.

Our Solution

The aim of the Disaster Ready VR project is to create immersive virtual reality training simulations that equip users with critical disaster response skills in a risk-free environment. By simulating real-life scenarios, we help individuals prepare for emergencies, ensuring they are capable of responding effectively to disasters like fires, earthquakes, and pandemics.

Features of Project

  • To raise public awareness about disaster risks through virtual reality simulations that allow users to safely learn emergency response techniques without being in dangerous situations.

  • To provide step-by-step disaster response training through immersive VR experiences, guiding users on how to effectively evacuate or respond to critical situations, such as fires, earthquakes, and pandemics.

  • To offer comprehensive VR content for various disaster scenarios, including sinking cruise ships, theater fires, earthquakes, and pandemics, enabling players to experience realistic disaster responses in a controlled environment.

  • To collaborate with government, and universities to develop cutting-edge VR training simulations that teach life-saving skills, enhancing public safety and preparedness.

  • To reduce disaster-related harm by improving preparedness and decision-making through realistic VR simulations.
