Mobile App for Disaster Alert and Rescue Coordination
Inspiration
During natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and landslides, people often struggle to receive timely information, communicate their emergency needs, and get help quickly. Rescue teams may also face difficulties identifying affected people and coordinating rescue operations. These challenges inspired us to develop a smart disaster management platform that helps connect affected people with rescue teams.
What It Does
Our platform aims to improve emergency response and public safety through the following features:
- Real-Time Disaster Alerts: Provides timely information about disasters and potential emergencies.
- Emergency Reporting: Enables affected people to report emergencies and request assistance.
- Communication: Supports information exchange between affected people and rescue teams.
- Rescue Coordination: Helps organize rescue requests and coordinate response activities.
- Public Safety Information: Provides important updates to help people stay informed during emergencies.
How We Built It
We designed the project around a user-friendly interface that makes emergency information and essential features easy to access. The platform is organized into key sections for disaster alerts, emergency reporting, communication, and rescue coordination.
Our development process focuses on creating a clear user experience, organizing emergency information, and making the platform useful for both affected people and rescue teams.
Challenges We Faced
One of the main challenges was planning multiple emergency management features within a single platform. We also considered the importance of presenting critical information clearly, keeping navigation simple, and designing a system that could support communication and coordination during emergencies.
What We Learned
Through this project, we learned more about problem-solving, user interface design, project planning, and applying software development concepts to real-world problems. We also understood the importance of accessibility, reliable information, and effective coordination in disaster management.
Future Scope
In the future, we aim to integrate GPS-based location sharing, interactive maps, AI-assisted emergency prioritization, push notifications, and live rescue status tracking to make emergency response more effective.

Our goal is to use technology to connect people in need with those who can help, improve rescue coordination, and contribute to safer and more disaster-resilient communities.
