Inspiration
DisaBlend was created in response to our deep concerns and empathy for the marginalized group in society, particularly the disabled youths who have felt let down by the restrictions placed on them by others as a result of their disabilities. Our application aims to improve this situation by making it easier for users to find careers and job opportunities that complement their skills and aptitudes. By doing this, we hope to help youths realize their goals and aspirations despite physical obstacles.
What it does
Our software goes beyond the simple act of looking for a job; it acts as a unified platform that promotes community among people with disabilities while easing communication with others. It gives users the power to select employment openings by their unique requirements and preferences, enabling direct application to businesses without the burden of creating a standard curriculum vitae, which can be difficult for people with disabilities. Instead, our cutting-edge system automatically creates a thorough CV on their behalf, easing the application process by providing potential employers with their essential information and reducing their challenges.
How we built it
The prototype of the app was precisely designed using the advanced Figma program, demonstrating our dedication to accuracy and perfection in its development.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered many difficulties in developing it, such as navigating the challenged nature of our ideas and overcoming outside influences like internet connectivity and time restraints. Nevertheless, thanks to the wonderful contributions of every team member, we prevailed and finished the project on schedule.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As evidenced by the finished design and prototype of our app, we are quite proud of how our idea has come to reality so far. Undoubtedly, our goals go beyond the app's current form, and we fervently wish to improve it further so that it will have a genuine impact on society as a whole. This hackathon project's experience was revolutionary, teaching priceless lessons in cooperation, tenacity, and picking up new skills as the program was being developed. Undoubtedly, it was an exciting journey for us, with moments of satisfaction sprinkled throughout.
What we learned
Our long-term goal is to extend Disablend's global reach and make it easier for people with disabilities to access services anywhere in the world. Additionally, we work to raise awareness that people with disabilities need not be limited in their potential in addition to helping them find acceptable jobs.
What's next for DisaBlend
"Where DISAbility BLENDs in," the app's name and motto, represents our sincere wish for the disabled population to flourish within society without being burdened by emotions of otherness or inadequacy. We work to create a world where all people, regardless of their disabilities, may fully embrace their skills and goals, driving themselves to unmatched heights by giving them the tools they need to navigate life with a sense of normalcy.
