Democratising app based mobility services through DirectCabs

Direct Cabs

The pain:

  • Average ETA has increased to 12-15 minutes for rides
  • Fares are Higher by - 15-20% in non-peak hours
  • Fares are Higher by - 30-60% in peak hours
  • Driver earnings have decreased by 45% Quarter on Quarter

The research:

  • As per Red Seer report overall NPS for Ride Experience has gone down. As per our research, major reason behind this is increase in ETA and pricing for the riders. For drivers obviously it is due to sharp decline in income.

The Ideation: A completely renewed take on app based mobility, where the power goes back to small entrepreneurs and customers while technology becomes the enabler much like Broadband and Telecom services. A zero-commission model which is extremely profitable for all stakeholders, platform, drivers, and users.

What if we could book cab directly in front of us, rather than waiting for one to come? But this has not been possible due to the current business model. So we worked hard and we created a whole new model which is win-win-win for everyone in the ecosystem.

The Execution: Our technology allows unprecedented flexibility to both customers and drivers. Customer can chose preferred car model, driver rating, ETA, pricing etc. While Drivers can set their own pricing, but best of all they do not need to pay commission on every ride. We target to signup at least 15000 drivers in first quarter.

The app features some industry first features that are set to revolutionise shared mobility. Without any further due, here they are:

  1. Unlimited Freedom: imagine a cab service where you have the freedom to do the following: a. Choose best tariff: choose the cab which offers you best total fare. b.Choose fastest pickup: choose the cab which can pick you up the quickest. c.Choose vehicle in front of you: choose the cab that's standing in front of you, why wait.. d.Choose only 5 star rated vehicles: choose the cab which have high ratings.. e.Choose the model and type of vehicle you like: choose the type of vehicle you like.. f.*If you are a female, choose if you would like to be driven by a female entrepreneur *: choose if you are comfortable with a female driver (only for female riders).

2.Freedom for Entrepreneurs: Imagine a business where you have the freedom to do the following: a. Choose pricing of your service: Within the limits set by local authority, you can slide and set your own pricing for your vehicle and service. If you feel, you are a professional driver, your vehicle is clean, and you deserve more than others, set the price accordingly, and people who value that more will opt for you. b. Choose to pay 0 commission: Simply pay a nominal software usage fees on the day you use and give a ride. No percentage cut for each ride. c. Choose to accept direct payments: Choose to accept payments directly into your bank account through UPI or via Cash. No waiting for over a week or month for your earnings through third party aggregators. d. Know all about your ride before accepting it: You get to know pickup and drop location before accept the ride. e. Choose to operate in your favourite language: You get to choose the language of your interface. f. No internet no worries book your ride without it: Yes you read it right, in case you do not have internet on your phone, you can still book a ride in front of you, just ask the driver and he will put in pickup and drop location in the app, just share the sms otp received and you can enjoy the ride.

Due to nature of app, it would be difficult for someone to try the app, as currently it does not have drivers around your physical location. So please bear with us, and have a look over screenshots and videos shared to give you an idea of the journey of both entrepreneur driver and rider.
