What it does

The user will play as Dippo the Hippo, a hippo aspiring to become a unicorn. The user (Dippo) will go through a series of levels, collecting items that will help him become a unicorn. In the final level, Dippo will realize that he will never become a unicorn. He is perfect just the way he is.

How we built it

Coding We used Java and Eclipse to build the game.

Graphics We used Photoshop to design all visuals in the game.

Music We used Sony Vegas to make our own music.

Challenges we ran into

Dippo the Hippo involved a lot of concepts (coding techniques, artistic design, plot line) that were difficult to complete in 24 hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Although it would have been easy to make a parody of another game, we decided to try and make our game completely from scratch (despite this being our first time using Java). Even if it isn't the most fantastic game in the Hackathon, we believe that it was a great accomplishment for us.

What's next for Dippo The Hippo

Dippo The Hippo will get more power ups, characters, sprites and music.
