Dinosty was inspired by the idea that financial literacy should start early and feel engaging rather than intimidating. Many kids are introduced to money through abstract explanations that don’t connect to their everyday lives. We wanted to change that by creating a playful, story-driven experience that helps kids understand financial concepts in a way that feels fun, relatable, and age-appropriate.

Dinosty is an interactive website designed to teach kids ages 7–12 the basics of saving, spending, and goal-setting through games, stories, and simple challenges. Guided by a friendly dinosaur mascot, kids learn by exploring and making choices rather than memorizing rules. The platform focuses on turning real-world money concepts into meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

We built Dinosty using modern web technologies with an emphasis on intuitive design and accessibility. A major challenge was balancing educational value with entertainment while designing for a wide age range. Translating abstract financial ideas into engaging interactions required thoughtful iteration, as did creating a visual style that was fun without being overwhelming.

Despite these challenges, we’re proud of building a cohesive and engaging learning experience from scratch. From the mascot and theme to the learning flow itself, Dinosty successfully combines education and play in a way that encourages positive money habits early on. Through this project, we learned the importance of user-centered design, especially when building for younger audiences, and how storytelling can make complex ideas easier to understand.

Next, we hope to expand Dinosty with more interactive stories, mini-games, and progression-based learning paths.
