Inspiration

The hackathon theme was what pushed us to create this project.

What it does

You play as a dinosaur avoiding flaming meteors falling from space. The goal is to avoid the meteors for as long as possible. The game gets progressively harder as more and more meteors fall from the sky. How long can you last?

How we built it

Our team used the Unity Engine due to the ease of access of the engine and the ability to easily switch the format of the game for other devices.

Challenges we ran into

Having to commit to a PC game due to our augmented reality concept game not panning out with the hardware that we had access to. That and adding to the different software needed to get the project to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The game is limited but it is amusing. The simple design and look invokes this sense of simple humor.

What we learned

Android app development has quite the learning curve. We can't lie about that. Plus, having to convert the game itself to be compatible on different devices.

What's next for DinoDash RowdyRun: Prehistoric Creature Simulator

We hope to implement a coin based system that allows you to unlock more types of dinosaurs. That along with making the Augmented Reality concept a reality rather than a simple infinite runner.
