Inspiration
We were inspired by the Academies school mascot the Raptor! We wanted to also implement the theme of cloning for this year's hackathon.
What it does
The game uses player input to control a Raptor on its journey through an obstacle course where it meets new friends and clones itself. It features 2 levels and ends in a cloning frenzy!
How we built it
We used Python 3.11 and a library called 'pygame' to code the game. We used paint.net to create all the art for the game and we did not use AI or any external resources to help us.
Challenges we ran into
The code for many of the ideas we had come up with was very complex and time consuming; however, we took this opportunity to build a simpler game that we liked.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how this game turned out with the short time frame it was created in and also the teamwork and experiences we built during this year's Hackathon.
What we learned
We learned a lot about the brainstorming, ideation, and programming processes work for project and games like these. We also learned values of teamwork and sharing ideas.
What's next for Dino Clone Survival
We hope to add more content such as new levels, obstacles, and characters in the future, improve graphics, and continue to improve the game as a whole.
