Inspiration
My inspiration was Paper Mario Color Splash with the minigame Roshambo for the Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanic. For everything else, I matched with the theme of this hackathon and my own creativity.
What it does
A unique experience and take on a classic game that can be played with a more adventurous goal.
How we built it
It was mostly constructed natively within Roblox Studio. Additionally, I programmed it in Luau and I animated it in Blender.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult for me to come up with appealing visuals. I hope my concept speaks louder than what is seen. But, overall I am pretty satisfied with what I have created.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I appreciate the attempt and think the game has potential for more fun. And, I think the animations turned out pretty well since it has been a while since I have animated.
What we learned
I learned that maybe I should look towards a not so demanding game for visuals as it is not my strong suit within my skills. And that I can take this hackathon as a lesson for any future projects or hackathons I may have.
What's next for Dino Catcher
A much needed visual update. Most likely a revamped UI and mechanic polishing too.
