Inspiration

My team and I have always wanted to build an interactive website that looks good while having a solid use case. In addition, we are computer science students struggling with homework. So we decided to kill two birds with one stone and create a website design that helps us with homework!

What it does

DingBot is an AI chatbox that helps users with schoolwork. We have implemented reliable databases that users can trust to get instant feedback/answers. We also have a highly designed and perfected website design. Our website not only catches the eye but ensures a seamless user experience.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and javascript to design the website and make it interactive. These files combined were over 1.5 thousand lines of code! We brought our chatbot to life using BotPress and integrated it within our website with GeeksforGeeks as our database.

Challenges we ran into

We had a long and hard road when we started. Our team was just two people one of whom had zero experience in web development or artificial intelligence. In a thrilling race against time, we crafted, launched, and unveiled our website in just 24 hours! Our hardest hurdle was definitely the chatbox. We had to learn the workings of collecting, manipulating, and presenting information all while showcasing a beautiful website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The design of the website is our biggest accomplishment. The interactions and architecture really help our chatbox stand out from the rest. The design and implementation process really helped make our project feel satisfying.

What we learned

We learned so much from this hackathon! In our resources alone, we used HTML, CSS, JS, Figma, and BotPress, I could go on! Our project showcases our learning in web design and artificial intelligence. We had so much fun while learning so much.

What's next for DingBot

We hope to make the chatbox not limited to CS problems but for all problems. In addition, we want to integrate personality into the chatbox and give it a bit of flair. Lastly, possibly some touchups to the website and adding a personalized domain name.
