Inspiration
We were inspired by games such as Yume Nikki and also the Huawei sponsor track to make a game with Non-Euclidean elements.
What it does
It is an exploration game through multiple rooms that don't appear to connect. The experience is meant to be disorienting with scattered props and portals that bring players from one room to another.
How we built it
We used the Godot engine to create the game.
Challenges we ran into
None of us knew how to use Godot before starting this project and had very little experience with 3D game development. Additionally, one of our members fell sick before the event and had to sit out a good portion of the development process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The level switching and controls, along with the abstract map design.
What we learned
How to use Godot and the basics of game design.
What's next for Dimension Walker
More fleshed out textures and a larger gameplay loop.
