Inspiration
The attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021 shook the core foundation of our democracy. No one could have imagined that such a disturbing chain of events could take law enforcement by surprise. This attack by extremists could not have been an impulsive act; facts reveal that this was pre-meditated. The DigiVigi solution empowers law enforcement to exercise more due diligence and vigilance so that such events could be prevented in the future.
What it does
The purpose of the DigiVigi app is to make our society a safer place to live for all, by giving law enforcement tools and information literally at their fingertips for tracking and monitoring potential illegal activity, through intelligent automation.
How we built it
DigiVigi App has been built leveraging Pega's Low Code No Code capabilities and enhanced UI/UX. The timeframe in which this App has been built proves how fast Pega can convert conceptsinto production ready applications.
Challenges we ran into
This was the first time our team ever built a Pega Application with a native mobile (iPhone) app. There are several challenges with building a native mobile app, like getting an Apple Developer Account, access to Macbooks and iPhones, but the team was fully invested in making it happen by overcoming these challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Digi Vigi App can help our society be a safer place to live by empowering law enforcement and making their jobs a little easier. The social impact that this App can have on our communities by increasing their faith in law enforcement is what we are most proud and excited about.
What we learned
The experience of learning how to build a Pega Mobile App along with the outcome of building a product for the greater social good is an unparalleled learning experience in itself.
What's next for DigiVigi App – Digitized Due Diligence & Vigilance
In the upcoming months we plan to showcase the Digi Vigi App to various key stakeholders in Federal and State Law Enforcement and demonstrate Pega's Build for Change and Low Code capabilities.
