Bridging the creator economy together, piece by piece.
Inspiration: As an upcoming artist, I struggled to monetize my work and connect with my audience without relying on intermediaries. This inspired me to create DIGITVL - Creator Economy, an e-commerce marketplace that combines traditional web 2.0 e-commerce with blockchain technology to allow creators to send and receive payments directly in XRP.
What it does: DIGITVL - Creator Economy allows creators to have more tools to monetize and connect with their audience. The platform leverages the power of blockchain technology to enable seamless global payments and e-commerce, while providing a secure and transparent platform for creators to showcase and sell their work. Alongside e-commerce, creators have the ability to upload music and have users engage with it for XRP. Engagement is recorded as transactions on the ledger to authenticate its legitimacy and then rewarded.
How we built it: To build DIGITVL - Creator Economy, we used a combination of WordPress and PHP to create a custom plugin that integrates with the XRPValidator library and the XUMM API. This allowed us to validate XRP wallet addresses and process payments to vendors directly on the platform.
Challenges we ran into: The main challenge we faced was integrating the XRPValidator library and the XUMM API into our plugin. However, with careful documentation reading and debugging, we were able to successfully integrate these technologies into our plugin.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are proud to have built a platform that empowers creators to monetize and connect with their audience without the need for intermediaries. Our use of blockchain technology has enabled seamless global payments and e-commerce, while providing a secure and transparent platform for creators to showcase and sell their work.
What we learned: We learned a lot about integrating blockchain technology into traditional e-commerce platforms and the challenges associated with doing so. We also learned about the power of community and the importance of empowering creators to monetize and connect with their audience on their own terms.
What's next for DIGITVL - Creator Economy: Our next steps are to continue to enhance our platform with new features and integrations, as well as to expand our user base and provide even more opportunities for creators to monetize and connect with their audience.
