The Problem

Lukas, a young man from Stuttgart in Germany was keen on bringing a solution in the world that can protect the most vulnerable, in his trip to India and Africa, he realized that there are a great number of people who does not have access to computing hardware such as laptops and smartphones. He also understood that this group of people might not have access to WIFI or even an income.

When COVID19 happened Lukas along with many of his friends decided to join the global effort to fight COVID19. He remembered his trips to India and Africa and he wondered if the most vulnerable will stop having access to education, he decided to bring a new solution to the world to reduce the sufferings of millions and bring a new light of hope through education.

Because of COVID19 restriction on mobility, many schools has stopped teaching the students at school and they shifted to online education but the most vulnerable (NO MONEY, NO HARDWARE, NO WIFI) might face a complete education disruption.

The solution

Lukas understood that with the help of a) organization that provide Human support and organization who collect b) hardware donation and Teleco operators, he can solve this challenge. But he wanted to make sure even if we have provided the most vulnerable the hardware and internet connectivity they need. They might not use the platform because of a less engaging software (education is boring for many to start with...).

He decided to build a mobile app that can work on these donated smartphone (which in many cases can be outdated) and help in bringing a highly engaging and functional software to the masses.

He built a mobile app for the teachers and a mobile app for the students. It is a great success but need the right push to reach the masses.

A great People from different countries, specializations came together to help the most vulnerable.

What you have done during the weekend

  • The development team has managed to do significant developments on the WebApp from the backend side and the front end side.
  • The marketing and design team has created fresh new presentations that can match the requirements of the EU vs Virus hackathon.
  • A docker infrastructure and CI pipeline have been set up.

The solution’s impact to the crisis

The solution brings a great help to many, its not only that it brings education for the most vulnerable, those people who are living under the harshest conditions but also it brings a new meaning to education continuity giving hope to many who think that education is only for the privileged ones.

The necessities in order to continue the project

We are looking for UI designer, Developers and Supporters to bring more life to our work at the moment and we want to see if we can have an access to some of the biggest students and teachers network like the EU twining project.

This project needs commitment, team and investment to see reach it is full potential. .

The value of your solution(s) after the crisis

This solution enforces online education to the masses, but it also provide accessibility to people who might not have access to the digital economy, many services are becoming digital and if you reached the most vulnerable, you might provide digital services exposure to the last humans on earth, with the right leadership, this project will grow and will continue.
