Inspiration
Storytelling is an act of expressing experiences or opinions through emotions. If given a chance, every one of us would be able to tell compelling stories. Our idea is to create a platform to tap into that writer in each of us.
What it does
The platform lets a user sign up with an email and password to be able to create, view and share stories with others.
How we built it
We split the platform into 3 components - frontend, backend, and database in the current design. The backend was implemented using Java and Spring Boot while the frontend was implemented using React.
Challenges we ran into
- Limit the number of features in the original idea (Eg. a feature to be able to connect with other users and react to their stories) owing to the time constraint.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We were able to complete the backend part sooner than we expected as the requirements were laid out in a very clear fashion, to begin with. This helped the frontend work to be implemented seamlessly.
What we learned
- The teammates got a chance to explore the technologies they weren't using before, which is a great learning.
What's next for Creativtale
- We'd like to enhance the platform and plan to implement the features discussed on the drawing board.
