Inspiration
Solar Rooftop or Rooftop Photovoltaic systems and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) are major disruptive technology of energy like personal computer or smartphone. In the future, when Solar Rooftop and BESS cost are lower than electricity tariff, everyone will use the energy produced and storaged from these technology. Nevertheless, for residential customers to deal with technical issues, such as gridcode, economic benefit, financial benefit, forecasting, operation and maintenance, is a tedious and sometime very hard problems.
What it does
Digital SolarRoof is there for you! Our application will support whoever interested in green and cheaper energy to get Solar Rooftop and Battery right into your roof. We offer 3 services to our user:
Planning Services : Digital SolarRoof use optimization tools to sizing your Solar Rooftop and Battery for you. Furthermore, our services will deal with document and financial loan too.
Operation Services : The history of power generated from Solar Rooftop are used to sizing in the planning stage (and typical optimal sizing in literature review). However, uncertainty in real world situation will reduce the real benefit from planning benefit. Digital SolarRoof will deal with this problem by offering accurate solar forecast that enhance coordination of Solar Rooftop, Battery and your electricity consumption and thus increase real benefit.
Maintenance Services : There are many factor of Solar Degradation, some are unavoidable and some are avoidable. From our accurate forecast system, even slightly problem such as module failure will be detected and promptly notify to you and our maintenance engineer.
How I built it
Backend we use django to deploy machine learning and optimization model. Front end, we use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap and D3 to interact with users.
Challenges I ran into
Our team don't have experience in deploying model before, but we try our best to do it.
