Inspiration
We were inspired by the Hackathons theme and strong regards towards nostalgia to develop this application.
What it does
It functions like a scrapbook on the web. It supports image uploading and placing uploaded images into the scrapbook for storing memories.
How we built it
We built it using Java, Springboot (for web functionality), and HTML.
Challenges we ran into
We are both new to Springboot, HTML and Databases, So It was a struggle for us to write most of the code. We weren't able to successfully upload images to a database for safekeeping as planned, and we wasted much time taking the wrong approach toward project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a frontend for an web application, which is something we have never done before, and furthermore it has some functionality.
What we learned
We learned a lot about SQL Databases, Spring boot, and HTML. Afterall, it was our first introduction to these things. We also learned what we need to do to prepare for next years hackathon.
What's next for Digital ScrapBook
We plan on finishing the project and adding full functionality with a database backed backend as practice for future hackathons.
