The Covid-19 emergency led to an even more forced and rapid digitalization of both the work processes and the teaching / learning models. Our aim is to effectively reconfigure the relationships (be they between colleagues or between teachers and learners) taking into account: mental and physical health of teleworkers, inclusiveness, motivation and engagement.
The Covid-19 emergency led to an even more forced and rapid digitalization of both the work processes and the teaching / learning models.
This condition is going to have long-lasting effects, at least for the next year, and even after that it is going to change the way we work for ever. Moving from the difficulties encountered by companies and organizations in managing smartwork, our aim is to effectively reconfigure the relationships (be they between colleagues or between teachers and learners) by taking into account: mental and physical health of teleworkers, inclusiveness, motivation and engagement.
What it does
A platform named “Digital Smart Village” that creates a community at the service of companies and organizations willing to improve efficiency and effectiveness of smart work in Phase 2 and later phases with a specific reference to the Italian context.
The mission of Digital Smart Village is to be the earth's most human centric platform where answers to humans’ most important needs, learning, development, social relations and engagement, can be found and co-created.
It is conceived as a meeting point for companies and organizations that can share experiences and best practices and get access to a series of services. Functioning mechanisms are peer to peer exchange and sharing.
How I built it
We structure these three days of activity adopting design thinking methodology. April 24th 2020 We discussed in depth the NEEDS of the smart workers and defined the PROBLEMS to be solved April 25th 2020 We shared IDEAS and generated SOLUTIONS to solve the problems of smart working April 26th 2020 We created a "tangible" PROTOTYPE for our solution to the problems we identified
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge for our project has been to fast develop the concept in such a short time span, considering that we started from scratch. Sometimes interaction on Slack platform was confusing but we managed it. Physician distance in an Hackathon is an issue but we solved using all types of technologies available.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We succeeded in building a sound project that can be sustainable and scalable in a relatively short time span and the combination of activities and competencies was key to this accomplishment. Furthermore, the fact that we spent the last 2 months working remotely helped us in making this hackathon a success even if we were non able to work all together at the same time.
What I learned
Joining forces pays off. It was very interesting to see such a strong and committing participation form all around the word on such a relevant topic. You can aways get a positive outcome even form a huge tragedy such as Coronavirus emergency.
What's next for Digital relations in smart working and learning
Introduction of new organizational models: companies will never be as they used to be. In particular, we will observe the introduction of models and tools that favor the incorporation and pervasiveness of a culture of smartworking, prepare for a high degree of flexibility and take into account the well-being, motivation and engagement of people.
